While staying in the remote area of Gumi, we found that eateries nearby were limited after checking into our accommodation. Fortunately, we managed to find one nearby.

As usual, we tried to decipher the menu using translations. Eventually, we decided on their cold noodles, which were served chilled with half a boiled egg, sliced cucumbers, and some pickles.

Dwaeji Gukbap is a Korean pork and rice soup, known for its rich and comforting flavor. The broth is made by boiling pork bones for hours, resulting in a deep, flavorful soup with a signature milky-white appearance. The slices of pork were tender and irresistible. Using domestic pork, the dish was simple yet satisfying — the kind of soup that pairs perfectly with a bowl of rice. Absolutely yummy.

Even with the language barrier, the owner's kind gestures brought warmth to our hearts. We were grateful for such a welcoming encounter and the chance to enjoy some delicious local food.
