Hae! Claypot @ Eunos (Prawn & LALA)

It was my first time at Hae! Claypot, and I found the name quite endearing. “Hae” is the Hokkien word for prawn, and it’s a fitting tribute to one of their star ingredients. A playful, local touch that sets the tone for the hearty, comforting meal that follows.

Hae! Claypot

They are currently promoting their Lala (Clams) Steamboat at just $12.80 nett, an incredibly wallet-friendly deal for such freshness and flavour.

Lala (Clams) Steamboat at only $12.80 Nett

Housed within an industrial canteen, Enjoy Hae! occupies a relatively spacious unit, you definitely won’t miss it. Their striking orange signboard stands out boldly, catching the eye even from afar.

Stall of Hae! Prawn Claypot

Lala lovers, this one's for you! Enjoy Hae!’s Lala (Clams) Steamboat is an absolute steal at just $12.80 nett. The clams are incredibly fresh, you can even see them live at the front of the stall. For a price like that, the portion is surprisingly generous, making it a great value treat for seafood fans!

Lala Hotpot

Having visited quite a number of lala hotpot spots, I’ve never come across a stall that offers Superior Golden Fungus and that’s exactly what caught our eye. It’s not something you would typically expect in a humble lala steamboat setup, and it definitely added a unique touch to the experience.

Superior Golden Fungus

While at Enjoy Hae!, skipping their fresh tiger prawns was simply not an option. By default, they’re part of the experience, big, plump, and naturally sweet; they were a perfect addition to our bubbling hotpot.

Fresh Tiger Prawn

The lala was generously portioned, glistening beautifully under the gentle glow of the charcoal fire. With the simple yet effective pairing of ginger and fresh clams, the broth turned out clean, vibrant, and naturally delicious, letting the ingredients speak for themselves.

Lala

One of the things we appreciated about Enjoy Hae!’s claypot experience is the thoughtful touch of having a glass bottle of Hua Diao wine at every table by default. You are free to add it to your broth according to your own preference, which really elevates the flavour.

Beyond the fresh tiger prawns and the rare find of Superior Golden Fungus, we were pleasantly surprised to see luffa, a refreshing and tender addition that you don’t often come across at typical hotpot places.

Hae!

We were so glad that the lala were clean and delicious, with no trace of sand or grit in the shells a common concern that was completely absent here. The broth was naturally flavourful, soaking up the sweetness of the clams beautifully and making every sip a comforting delight.

Lala

Aside from their signature lala broth, Enjoy Hae! also offers the option to top up with collagen broth or prawn broth, giving you the flexibility to customise the base to your liking. Whether you’re in the mood for something richer or more nourishing, there's something for every palate.

With Broth

Upon opening the S’mores Kit, we were greeted by a delightful cart from HAE!, about the size of a postcard, complete with step-by-step instructions on how to build our s’mores.

Card from Smore's Kit

Instructions

The box contains a few Dairy Milk chocolates, butter crackers, and a packet of marshmallows—everything we needed to have some post-meal fun.

In the Smores Kit

We thought it was a clever touch, making use of the lingering charcoal heat after the meal by skewering soft marshmallows onto satay sticks. The gentle warmth from the charcoal gave the marshmallows a perfectly toasted finish, adding a fun and unexpectedly delightful end to our dining experience.

BBQ-ing the Marshmallow

To top it all off, we sandwiched the warm, melty marshmallows between butter crackers and a square of chocolate, creating a simple yet indulgent treat. The contrast of textures and flavors was spot on, making for such a fun and satisfying end to the experience.

Claypot Curry Fish 招牌砂锅咖喱鱼 - $38

We opted for the Fish Meat instead of Fish Head. I'm sold by the first taste of the curry gravy. It was not spicy and in fact, the taste was inviting and perfect to drench on our plate of plain white rice.

Yummy Curry Fish

Other than serving Claypot Curry Fish dishes, Yu Cun is also serves a good variety of seafood and meat delicacies that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

We shared the seafood beancurd, it was savoury and topped with chicken floss as well as mayonnaise.

Seafood Beancurd with Chicken Floss 肉松海鲜豆腐 - $14.90

The dish has rich and savoury flavour with a hint of sweetness from the sugar and a subtle aroma from the five-spice powder. The texture was crispy and a yummy dish for sharing on the table.

Red Beancurd Fried Pork 南乳炸肉 - $16.90

Washing down our yummy meal with this  Buah Long Long Drink. Refreshing and Satisfying.

Tai Mei Wei SingPost Center

Tai Mei Wei is located at the Basement One of SingPost Center, just in front of the escalator. They are selling Taiwanese Bentos and Snack.

Tai Mei Wei

We made sure our orders were served promptly. The packaging was cute, and illustrated by cartoon characters.

Our Orders

A symphony of flavours and textures within a compact bowl. They offer different spicy levels for the Crispy Salted Chicken and we chose the original taste. The chunks were crispy on the outside and cradling a juicy meat. The bento meal consists of sunny-side eggs, preserved vegetables, mixed vegetables beans and Crispy Salted Chicken Chunks.

Crispy Salted Chicken Bento 盐酥鸡便当 - $6.50

Indulging in the best of both worlds with this Double Happiness Bento. Besides the standard mixed vegetable beans, preserved vegetables fried egg, and Braised pork were aromatic and not greasy. The shredded chicken was juicy and topped with aromatic bits

Double Happiness Bento 双喜便当 - $6

Simply love the crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It strikes a perfect balance, providing a satisfying crunch that envelops the succulent mushroom within. This snack excels in flavour, leaving me for more.

We had their Wintermelon Bird Nest drink to pair with our meals. It was cooling and not too sweet.

Fried Oyster Mushroom 炸杏鲍菇 - $4.90

Thank you Tai Mei Wei for the delicious Bentos and Snack.

Shi Wei Xian Hong Kong Tim Sum

This cheap and good Tim Sum place is known for its operating hours for they are just opened 2 days a week. They are opened only during Saturdays and Sundays in one corner of the coffeeshop.

Shi Wei Xian Hong Kong Tim Sum

Menu was rather straight forward and items are mostly illustrated on their signboard. With a limitation of 26 items on the Tim Sum Menu, its already good enough for the folks to get busy in the kitchen.

Ordering Chit

Yuan Yang Chee Cheong Fun is a best of both world when one cant decide to choose between Char Siu or Prawns. These smooth & warm sheets of rice roll was thin and had the fillings encased. The sauce that based the dish was tasty.

Yuan Yang Chee Cheong Fun 鸳鸯香港猪肠粉 - $4

I'm quite impressed by the 3 small cakes of carrot cake that were pan fried and came with bite chunks within. The external layer had a tad crisp with charred edges and the bite texture was soft.

Carrot Cake 萝卜糕 (3pcs) - $4.50

Porridge is of small portion of and the texture consistency was perfect. The taste fits me.

Century Egg Pork Porridge 皮蛋瘦肉粥 - $2.20

The Crab Meat Siew Mai did not have any distinguishable taste nor pieces of crab meat within. Nonetheless, its texture was succulent, packed of meat and not very greasy

Beancurd Sheet Roll 豪皇鲜竹卷, Bean Sauce Chicken Feet 豉汁蒸凤爪,Crab Meat Siew Mai 蟹皇蒸烧卖 - $4.20,$4, $4.20

The crispy Ngoh Hiang Chicken Roll was delicious and comes 3 in a plate.

Fried Ngoh Hiang Chicken Roll 五香炸鸡圈 - $4.50

The Char Siew Bun was fluffy and soft in its skin with sweet tasty chopped meat fillings.

Char Siew Pau 叉烧包 - $1.20

I overheard some angry commotions in the kitchen between the counterparts. I begin to wonder if this is the reason behind the short operating hours?

In conclusion, their Dim Sum fares above the average one for the freshness and taste.

CocoSan [Media Invite]

Coconut is a good source of electrolytes in our system and whenever I'm feeling dehydrated, a cup of coconut like this does hydrate and boost my system. Cocosan is a Japanese Style Fruit Bar in Singapore that offers healthy shakes.

CocoSan at Paya Lebar Square

We had the Purple Rice Coconut Shake and Coconut Chrysanthemum Shake.

Coconut Purple Rice Shake

Each cup of 500ml coconut purple rice shake contains 45g of purple rice. I'm quite a fan of purple rice and I'm quite satisfied with the fragrant purple rice bits among my cup of coconut shake. Purple rice is not only a source of fibre and protein but as well as a significant source of iron.

Coconut Chrysanthemum Shake
Fresh coconut juice is blended with chrysanthemum tea. The floral fragrant and herbal flavour from the flower made the drink aromatic. The combination of the flower and coconut juice gave us a surprise with its uniqueness. Chrysanthemum Tea has 7 top health benefits that include:

1) Promote deep relaxation
2) Promote Healthy Metabolism
3) Maintain Bone Health
4) Maintain Health Immune System
5) Improve Vision

Yes! As the saying goes "There is always room for desserts". The weather plays a part too in our purchase as it was simply too hot being out of the air-conditioned area.

Looking at the digital display featuring their items, I was attracted to the colourful bowls of desserts. While I'm craving for Red Ruby, I could not resist and ordered their Red Green Ruby Grass Jelly and Mango Konjac Pearl which was listed as one of the top 10 selling desserts.

Red Green Ruby Grass Jelly and Mango konjac pearl - $7.30

The colours in the bowl make me happy somehow and the refreshing items were soaked in fragrant coconut milk.

Mango Konjac Pearl

The popping texture from the Konjac Pearls, smoothness from the Grass Jelly and the crunchiness of refreshing chestnuts from the red ruby gave me riots of texture while enjoying my bowl of chilling dessert.

Pearls

Cheng Tang is always my favourite cold dessert to order. The 8 Treasure Cheng Tang with Peach Gum is also listed as their Top 10 Selling Dessert. The sugar level was perfect for me with adequate sweetness. Ingredients were a handful and its refreshing taste was addictive.

Peach Gum 8 Treasures Cheng Tang - $7.20 (Cold)

The ingredients include pearl barley, red dates, longan, ginkgo nut, white fungus and of course peach gum.

How many types of Treasures can you see?

Desserts are of quality and I'm really happy to see such a dessert stall around.

Greendot

Greendot was all started out from a school canteen stall since 2011 and currently they have ventured commercially into a few malls like Bedok Mall, Paya Lebar Sqaure & Westgate. Their flag ship outlet is located in Paya Lebar Square, occupying 3 units space on the 2nd Level.

She is founded by young entrepreneurs aged 23 (during then), Fu Yong Hong and his good friend Justin Chou, a vegetarian food enthusiast.

The aim of Greendot is not about converting people into vegetarians but rather, encourage people to have a well balance and flexible diet. They are promoting healthier diet and hopefully more people can eat less meat and embrace a green diet.

Greendot
Looking for traditional menu? Yes, they do have! But they do also have a handy electronic menu that is attached to every table where you can order.

Device
In the search of good tea, entrepreneurs of Greendot had went into mountainous areas in Taiwan, meeting tea planters and learn about the process of tea planting. Finally, they narrowed down to a collection of 12 teas and we had enjoyed here was a teapot of fragrant Oolong Tea from Alisan, Taiwan. Its color as well as taste was way different than those usual Oolong tea I had. The after taste of it keeps the mouth refresh in its sweetness and makes the throat feel smooth.

Alisan Oolong - $3.50
Honey Peach Oolong Tea is my personal favourite. In its chilled form, it gave me a refreshing treat with a welcoming fruity scent.

Being a "flexitarian", I do often enjoy meat as much. Like many others, when it comes with vegetarian food, we were quite skeptical about its taste and how flavourful can it be as compared to the real ones. At Greendot, no food is ever contain with flour or gluten as they either use fresh vegetables and mushrooms or are made from soy as well as konnyaku products.

Lion Mane Mushroom Rendang Rice to start with was aesthetically alluring. Colors were especially captivating. The bowl of fragrant sesame rice was stacked with a medley of vegetables consisting of broccoli, lettuce, seaweeds, shredded cucumber as well as carrots with shrooms added. The starring part of the dish is none other than the chunky mocked rendang "meat". Rendang gravy was lip-smackingly good, thick and perfumed in its spices.

Lion Mane Mushroom Rendang Rice - $9.50
Eating in groups? Why not getting yourselves involved in a different experience by trying out their mushroom pots for 2 or even 4 pax. The 4 pax meal comes with two choices of 2 soup base from Herbal, Tom Yum or Laksa with 4 bowls of rice.

Mini Hot Pot Set of 4 - $59.90

A basket of assorted food including Shitake Mushroom, Enoki Mushroom, Shimeiji Mushroom, Tomato, Tau Kee, Konnyaku Prawn, Baby Nai Bai, Chinese cabbage, Green Coral are provided to mix in the soup.

Basket of Assorted Food
Sides like Plated Sauteed Broccoli, Mixed Fruits and Salad, Mixed Mushroom Platter are included as well, not forgetting a pot of premium tea too.

Sides

Clearing your palates

Among the few choices of healthy rice, what I like best was sesame rice and Emperor Rice. If you like the fragrance from chicken rice, you will enjoy their sesame rice and if you enjoy black glutinous dessert, don't forget your bowl of Emperor Rice.

Emperor Rice
If you have been to QQ Rice or even the rice section of super marts, these gains should be of no strangers to you.

Five Treasure Rice
They were fluffy and nutritiously good.

Brown Rice

Looking for a mild spicy kick to pair with the bowl of rice? The sweetness as well as the spice served in a soup with Kaffir lime leaves, pink ginger buds and lemon grass spelt out the aromatic soup base.

Tom Yam Soup Base
If you are not enough with the spice from Tom Yam Soup, do try out the laksa broth too. It is of watery base and not too lemak in a sense.

Laksa Soup Base
With the existence of Vegan Burg, burger dishes from Vegetarian eating places are of no surprise. You can still enough your plate of western delight with thick cut fries by the side, dipping them into your favourite chilli/tomato sauce. Who says vegetarian are not interesting? The Lion's mane mushroom came with sliced cheese, omelette egg, tomato, a veggie patty spread with black pepper sauce, giving you that spicy kick.
Lion's Mane Mushroom Burger - $8.90

Nourishing herbal noodles aids blood circulation as well as reducing cholesterol level. Tau Pok, Radish, carrot, konnyaky balls and soya chunks were cooked in the scrumptious herbal broth with Chinese herbs like Angelica,  red dates, wolf-berry and licorice. Though herbs infused taste was not that strong to my liking, I would say this dish is pretty decent and stomach warming especially during colder weathers. A little pet peeve was that we took quite a while to take food pictures and end up the soup was absorbed by the noodles. So remember to enjoy it at its best condition.

Herbal Noodle - $7.90
"Laksa Mai Hum"? Well, you have it now. Get yourself into such local indulgence from the bowl of laksa made from scratch with blue, yellow gingers, chillies as well as laksa leaves. Ingredients consists of thick bee hoon, konnyaku slice, konnyaku prawn, tau pok, radish and carrot. Its taste is comparable to the "original" version.

Laksa - $5.90
Finishing off, we tasted their interesting array of beverages, ranging from fresh fruit tea, yogurt fruit shake to even soy latte. Do note that the size of the cups is not the actual sizes as they are for sampling only.

Note: Not the actual size of drinks

A perfect way to end the dinner with a cooling dessert. Osmanthus Jelly was definitely pleasing to the eyes. The sight of handful Osmanthus flowers and wolf-berries through the translucent wobbly Konnyaku Jelly was distracting. Sweetness was just right with little hint of its flowers' scent.

Osmanthus Jelly - $3.50

Be a flexitarian and enjoy vegetarian at times, I don't mind re-visiting their outlet again especially when they have one in the West side. Therefore if you feel like eating with a purpose or even going green, do visit their outlets.
