From 29 April to 30 June 2025, this limited-time menu will be available at all White Restaurant outlets, perfect for celebrating the love and care of our parents through a comforting, thoughtful meal.

As a soup lover, this was a true highlight. The taste was both appetising and deeply comforting, perfectly nourishing for any occasion.

Collagen Ginseng Chicken Soup 养生胶原参鸡汤

It came brimming with premium ingredients like ginseng strips, a tender quarter chicken drumstick, sliced American ginseng, cordyceps flowers, dried scallops, goji berries, braised shiitake mushroom, fish maw, and a boost of collagen powder.

Ingredients in Collagen Ginseng Chicken Soup

Every spoonful felt like a warm hug.

Delicious!

In today’s world where health is a top priority, this dish was thoughtfully created with wellness in mind. The French beans were deliciously cooked, crisp yet tender, and paired with wholesome ingredients like black goji berries, minced meat, Pu-Er tea, olive vegetable, and a touch of Hua Diao wine. It’s a hearty yet nourishing dish that doesn’t compromise on flavour.

Fragrant Pu Er & Goji French Beans 四季枸杞普洱香

This comforting dish features tender pork tendons and sliced meat, richly braised in a savoury abalone sauce. Served over a hearty mix of multigrains, it strikes a perfect balance between indulgence and nutrition, offering deep flavors while keeping the meal wholesome.

Abalone Sauce Pork Tendon with Multi-Grains 粗粮鲍香蹄筋煲

A luxurious medley from the sea, this treasure pot was brimming with premium ingredients like fish fillet, prawns, scallops, sea cucumber, swim bladder, mini shiitake mushrooms, fish maw, sweet peas, and white fungus. Each bite offered a delightful mix of textures, succulent seafood, tender vegetables, and nourishing fungus, all coated in a flavorful, savoury broth.

Imperial Seafood Pot with White Fungus 白玉海皇御品锅

For an even more satisfying experience, you can upgrade your meal by swapping the white rice for White Restaurant’s signature Supreme Seafood White Beehoon at an additional $20. A crowd favorite and a must-order for many diners, the white beehoon is luxuriously soaked in a rich, umami-packed broth and generously topped with a medley of seafood, clams, prawns, fish slices, squid, and more. Every bite is comforting and packed with the ocean’s natural sweetness.

Ala-Carte

If you are looking to elevate your meal even further, there are also àla carte items available for add-on, offering even more variety and indulgence to your Parents’ Day celebration.

One of the refreshing ala carte add-ons is the Guava with Mandarin Peels.

Guava with Mandarin Peels 陈皮芭乐 - $5

Lightly tossed with a sprinkle of crushed mandarin peel bits, the crunchy guava pieces carried a subtle citrusy fragrance and a sweet-sour balance that cleansed the palate beautifully.

Appetizing Guava

Another refreshing ala carte item is the Sargassum Tossed in Honey Osmanthus.

Sargassum Tossed in Honey Osmanthus 桂花纤葛 - $5

Light and mildly sweet, the crisp sargassum paired with juicy pear cubes offered a delightful crunch, while the subtle floral fragrance of osmanthus and a gentle touch of honey rounded off each bite beautifully.
Delighting Crunch

The American Ginseng Black Chicken Soup with Aged Black Garlic was my personal favourite out of the three Souper Tang soups. The broth was rich and nourishing, carrying a deep herbal aroma with a gentle sweetness from the aged black garlic. The black chicken was tender and infused with the earthy, comforting flavours of the soup, perfect for a soul-warming treat.

American Ginseng Black Chicken Soup with Aged Black Garlic 花旗参黑蒜乌鸡汤 - $32

The Mountain Pepper Pork Tripe Soup was a tad peppery for me, but for those who are fans of peppery soup bases, this would definitely hit the spot. The broth was robust and hearty, perfect for pepper lovers.

Mountain Pepper Pork Tripe Soup 金牌猪肚汤 - $36

This was truly superb. The pork belly had a distinct and beautiful balance between fat and meat, giving each bite a melt-in-the-mouth tenderness.

Braised Pork Belly in Rich Dark Special Sauce 茶花卤肉 - $19

The braised sauce was perfectly seasoned, rich, savory, and deeply flavorful without being overwhelming.

Braised Pork Belly

We especially loved stacking the pork belly onto the fluffy sesame mantou, paired with the refreshing crunch of cucumber for the perfect bite.

Sesame Mantou 芝麻馒头 (4pcs) - $5.50

The Souper Tang Stewed Yellow Wine Chicken with Tian Ma Botany was an aromatic delight. The tender chicken was infused with the rich flavors of yellow wine, creating a comforting and slightly sweet broth. Paired with Tian Ma (Gastrodia elata), a traditional herb known for its nourishing properties, this dish was both hearty and wholesome, a perfect blend of flavour and wellness.

The Stewed Sliced Fish with Yam features tender fish slices simmered in a creamy, flavorful broth, beautifully complemented by the earthy sweetness of yam.

Yellow Cab Pizza Co. Singapore

Yellow Cab Pizza is a huge chain that serves New York Style Pizzas, pastas, and wings. Their pizzas have thin,, crispy crusts and this style definitely floats my boat. It is strategically located at the end corner of Raffles Link, heading to esplanade Station from City Hall Station.

The furnishings were quite interesting with Traffic lights and Road Signage from New York. If you notice the alfresco dining, their chairs were made up of bicycle handle bar.

Pasta servings are 300g per dish.

The Pesto Chicken Pasta was served with Spaghetti covered in Homemade Pesto Sauce. Fresh Chicken strips, onions, fresh tomatoes and cashew nuts were the ingredients found. Pasta was topped with some sun-dried tomato as well as shredded cheese.

Pesto Chicken Pasta - $19.90

The Chicken Alfredo was creamy, served with chicken strips, olive and basil. The pasta texture was cooked to Al Dente perfection.

Chicken Alfredo - $17.80

Here we are featuring their new pasta on the menu, Cream Black Pepper Chicken Pasta. It's similar to the chicken alfredo but a less creamy version with hints of black pepper taste.

Cream Black Pepper Chicken Pasta

They have a good selection of New York-style pizzas, freshly prepared and handmade. Thin or Regular Crust is available on request.

The Roasted Garlic and Shrimp is a gourmet-style pizza with shrimp, onions, roasted garlic in wine-butter sauce. The sauce was a perfect base for the mild garlic and succulent shrimps.

Roasted Garlic and Shrimp

The taste was delightful and the pulling cheese effect was great.

Here's a new addition to their pizza menu with Mutton. We were surprised to have mutton on the pizza as it was a rare sight on a pizza menu. It had a hint of curry with minced lamb meat that was not gamey at all. Coupled with onions, diced jalapenos and cheese, I thought this was a good flavour too.

Mutton Pizza

The Chicken Tikka Pizza will be another new item on their Pizza Menu. It was a flavour explosion with sprinkled with herbs and spices that gave pizza flavours to another level.

Chicken Tikka Pizza

We also had the Twice Baked Potato Skins that came with 3 kinds of cheese being stuffed into the potato skin and topped with bacon bits.

Twice Baked Potato Skin - $12.80

The serving was so piping hot that we had to wait for it to cool down before handling it with bare hands.

With Baked Potato

Pairing the Bake Potato with Sour Cream was not only refreshing but also heavenly. Yums!

With Sour Cream

Always leave a corner of the stomach space for desserts. We had their Handmade Lava Cake which is made fresh daily. It was served with whipped cream topping and chocolate drizzle. The cake was moist. Nonetheless, the flow of the chocolate was different than expected.

Homemade Lava Cake with Whipped Cream - $6.50

Simply love its strategic location and its of a good spot if we are looking for a gathering within or near the MRT station. I will be back again for more!

Tablescape Restaurant & Bar

Treating mum to a delightful 4-course Mother's Day Set Menu meal featuring gourmet creations crafted with love at Tablescape. This is available from 7 to 25 May 2024 (Tuesday to Saturday). 12pm to 2.30pm (last order 2pm) | 6.30pm to 10pm (last order 9.30pm).

Tablescape Restaurant & Bar

While waiting for the 4-course meal to be ready, we were served with this freshly oven-baked mini bread from the chef. It was warm and went pretty well with the butter given.

Bakes

The meal kicked off with the 1st course with a creamy Burrata Salad. Simple with elegant plating comprising of Broad Bean, Tomato, Beetroot and Basil.

Burrata

Next up, we were served with succulent Poached Lobster with White Asparagus. Poached Lobster was served with 3 dallops of Bearnaise sauce, adorned with Snow Pea Shoots and Dill Oil. Love the biting texture of the white Asparagus too.

For the Main, the Mummy had chosen the Lamb Rack. The lamb rack was beautifully served with herb-crusted pairing with some roasted beets and potato pave. She had this plate polished empty and kept giving praises on this dish.

Lamb Rack

I had the Wagyu Skirt Medium Well Done. The Beef was tender and totally suited my appetite with its red wine sauce. This dish denotes Tablescape's signature and I will recommend it. Besides the slices of Wagyu, we have Broccolini, Mustard Horseradish Mash and Chanterelle Mushroom.

Wagyu Skirt

Finally, the last of the 4 Course Meal, their dessert. It ended well on a sweet note with their enchanting Blossom Dessert with Orange Mascarpone, Valrhona Raspberry Cream, and Pistachio Gelato Ice Cream. It was so beautifully decorated with every detail being edible. All were good except that mummy find that the Orange Mascarpone was a tad sour for her.

Dessert - Blossom

Overall the service crews were hospitable. Thank you Thanisha for rendering us a good service during our visit.

It's been quite lucky to have won this Mother's Day 4 Course Set Menu ($88++ / pax) for 2 Class95’s Cartunes. Thank you Class 95, Jean Danker & Edward Russell for this!

Honbo

Honbo was founded in 2017 by former doctor Michael Chan who named his eatery after the Cantonese name for hamburgers, "hon bo bao"

They are known for its handcrafted quality burgers in Hong Kong and has opened their maiden outlet in Singapore, CHIJMES.

Menu

Honbo prides itself on serving straight-froward American-style burgers made from fresh ingredients.

Menu

They provide a full table service from taking orders to serving your food as they are not a fast food joint.

Menu

With limited seating and the long queue, we waited more than half an hour to get a table for 6.

Dining Area

Mike's Lemonade has a slight hint of mint leaves and cucumber within. While we were expecting some Earl Grey and Ginger flavours from the other two beverages, it was quite disappointing that the lemonade taste had superseded the Tea and Ginger that we were looking for. Nonetheless, out of all the drinks ordered, the Ginger Lemonade tasted best among all.

Mike's Lemonade, Earl Grey Lemonade and Ginger Lemonade - $7 each

Here are some of the sides we had ordered for sharing.

Pickles, Fries, Tater Tots - $4.90 Each

These mini Tater Tots are not only good snacks for the kids but also for the adults.

Tater Tots - $4.90

The watery base cheese complimented the fries well for with a savoury taste and we could not resist and keep stretching our hands across the table for this snack!

Cheese Fries - $9.90

Besides the buns, the burgers are garnished with sustainably sourced greens, pickles cured in-house from Japanese cucumber and speciality sauces that are hand-crafted from their own kitchen. From all we know, Honbo's beef is ground fresh daily in-house and free from preservatives, MSG and additives. Each patty is smashed on a flattop griddle upon ordering.

This is their iconic burger that stars their 2x Crispy Beef patties, Cheese, pickles, onion and house sauce. This is where your Honbo adventure starts.

Honbo - $18

Would you like to have a thicket patty?

You can grab something heftier, The Gold Standard comes with 2 thicker patties, crunchy apple-wood smoked bacon, pickles, onions, lettuce and house sauce.

The Gold Standard - $28

Their beef patties are made up of minced beef and I like the fact that they are not densely packed together so we can enjoy the bits of each bite.

You can even order their Double Cheeseburger that comprises 2x Thick Beef, 2x Cheese, Pickles, Onion, Lettuce and House Sauce.

Double Cheeseburger - $24

This is the upgraded version of the Honbo with 4x Crispy Beef, 3x Cheese, Pickles, Onion and house sauce.

Honbo 2.0

Beefless options are available too, They do have large sashimi-grade scallop burgers, impossible burgers and Grilled Chicken Burgers with teriyaki sauce.

The prices are on the higher side if you were making it a meal with burgers, sides and drinks as compared to places like Shake Shack or Five Guys. No doubt that it tasted good, they are on the greasier side and overall, I will say its not worth the time spent on queuing.

Synthesis 食拿酒稳

While we thought this looks like the facade of the Traditional Chinese Medical Hall but as soon as the sliding door slides open. Everything behind this TCM Hall started to unveil.

Traditional Chinese Medical Hall

We get to walk through a high ceiling and traditional passageway decorated with lanterns and some Chinese quotes by the side of the pillar.

Passage Way

Perhaps those who had scrolled through the feeds on social media would have already known about such hip dining places with inconspicuous entrances. After all, the concept is kind of similar to Mama Diam, a popular speakeasy bar as all are helmed by Sebestian Ang.

Passage Way

The dining environment looked classy under the shades of lights and reflective decorations.

Interior

A chef's recommendation. The Kueh Pie Tee Cups were filled with turmeric chicken, onion sambal and topped with pandan coconut foam, finished off by some ikan billis sprinkling. The bed of Mung beans cannot be eaten as they are just for decoration purposes only.

Nasi Lemak Kueh Pie Tee - $15

Giam Sng Tee Highball is a Sour Plum Infused Vodka, pink guava, lime, soda.
Blue Plum was refreshing made up of Soursop Juice, Lime Juice and Blue Pea Water.

Giam Sng Tee Highball and Blue Plum - $22 & $14

These flounder nuggets were served in a brown paper bag and the strong Dang Gui Spiced smell lingered in the air when it was served. However, the spice diffused quickly as soon as we opened the bag. After all, these golden brown nuggets bites were soft in their coating and good for bar bites.

Dang Gui Spiced Shaker Fish Bites - $16

This is one of the mains recommended by the Chef. The Australian Wagyu was served in Medium doneness as requested by us with Homemade Mash, Broccolini and White Pepper Cream Sauce. The beef was charred on the outside and definitely juicy.

Australian Wagyu Beef Striploin (200-250g) - $38

The Herbal fragrance Pao Fan was fantastic. With Herbal Pork Collagen Broth,Unami Rice, Puffed Rice , egg floss and herb fritters.

Sakura Chicken Herbal "Pao Fan" Poached Rice - $24

As a herbal lover, I'm satisfied with such delicacy and it totally fits my style.

A spoonful of "Pao Fan"

Before leaving the place, it will be good to take some pictures for memories in this Traditional Chinese Medical Hall.

My overall experience at Synthesis was pleasant and fun. I love the cool vibes as well as the accessibility, not forgetting the unique theme of the restaurant. I will definitely want to be back again for get-togethers and meetups.
