Beach Road Prawn Mee Eating House

With the last visit to Beach Road Prawn Mee Eating House in the year 2020, I can still see many die hard fans queueing up for their bowls of yummy Prawn Mee as well as Wu Xiang. Over the years, their operations and queuing system is still efficient.

Beach Road Prawn Mee Eating House

The Prawn Mee Selection is rather straight forward, just pick the options and decide on the portion and style that you want to have.

Menu

The Standard of their basic bowl of prawn noodles still remains as tasty as before. The broth was tasty with fried shallot oil added. It was clear type without a heady taste or any overpowering prawn taste, not too dilute too. The bowl of noodle portion is rather decent with medium size prawns served.

Prawn Mee 虾面 - $6.50

Those who enjoyed the combination of Prawn Mee with Pork Ribs can order this. The broth tasted slightly different with pork ribs in it. The pieces of pork ribs were bone-falling tender and like the Prawn Mee, besides the halves of prawns and noodles, ingredients such as bean sprouts were part of the dish. Fried shallot oil were used as well to enhance the fragrant.

Prawn with Pork Ribs Mee 大虾排骨面 - $9.50

Tender Pork Ribs

Visiting the Prawn Mee Eating House will not be completed without having their Wu Xiang and we had selected the items we wanted. The majority of the patrons will have their share of Wu Xiang Ordered on top of their prawn noodles. Looking at the empty stacks of boxes that used to contain the fried crackers, I would say that many of the patrons do enjoy having Wu Xiang.

Ngoh Hiong - $22

For such standard and quality, of course I do not mind making a visit once more.

Ah Ma Chi Mian 阿嬤吃麵

The legendary Ah Ma Chi Mian has a few branches and this is their latest branch located in Parkway Parade. This heritage brand is inspired by the founder's grandmother. They pledge that they not only want their customer to fill their stomach with the food but also want them to bring smiles on their face.

Ah Ma Chi Mian

The bundle deal comes with 2 bowls of speciality noodles, soup and one bowl of Yuan Yang.

Bundle Deal - $14

As for a minced pork lover, the style of soup totally floats my boat. Soup was loaded generously with minced pork, elevating the level of sweetness in the soup. Pork liver texture was perfectly prepared and it resembles as good as eating Foie Gras.

This Teochew BCM is served in its unique style with fried anchovies topped the noodles.

Noodle and Soup

The Yuan Yang is a mixture of both their meatball and popular handmade Teochew Fishballs. The meatball is fresh and flavourful. On the other hand, the fishball texture is smooth and malleable. The balls here are toasted in their traditional homemade sauce coupled with a handful of greens, spring onions and fried pork lard. If you love the traditional flavours, this speciality bowl is the best of selection.

Speciality "Yuan Yang"

Overall, if you are looking for traditional Teochew BCM, you can try out their noodles at the mentioned outlets below.
