Springleaf Prata

I was quite excited when one of my ex-colleague mentioned that there is a new eating place in Rail Mall that is worth a try out. Springleaf prata is tuck in the quiet corner of the mall facing the abandoned railway tracks. I came to realize its existence recently even though it was opened since last Novemeber, serving an extensive, unique and delicious Indian Cuisine in its menu.

In fact, this Halal Certified Indian food Chain has opened up one more food option to the Muslim pals staying nearby.

Drinks accompany our food will be none other than Teh O Limau Ice & Rose Syrup.

Teh-O-Liamau & Rose Syrup - $1.80 & $1.40
Being curious with alot of unfamiliar item out of the usual Indian Cuisine Menu, we ordered the Murtaburger which name sounds like Murtabak and Burger to me.

2013 Murta Burger - $7

Taste was amazing and I only come to know about that this is actually a good marriage of prata with our well-liked "Ramly Burger".

Ingredients

Ingredients include mutton patties, mayonnaise well hidden inside the usual squarish egg prata. It was a moment of joy to see plenty of my favourite sticky mozzarella cheese while tearing up the prata. Not only was it delicious,  its crispiness of the prata had make me feel delighted.

Filling up part of our stomach with Maggie Goreng that looks plain and uninteresting. Taste wise, it was nothing out of the ordinary but the dish came with generous chunks of chicken cooked together with eggs, beansprouts and vegetables, couple with cucumber and chilli as appetizer on the side.

Maggie Goreng with Chicken - $5
$1.10 for a piece of prata? What's the market rate nowadays given for the price from a air-conditioned shop in a mall? I bet this pricing is relatively acceptable especially when its plain prata is so crispy and goes well with the curry gravy. Yummy!

Plain Prata - $1.10
Service and food serving speed is acceptable. With a few well known prata places in the vicinity. the stood up among the rest with their specialties. I forsee myself coming back for more.

Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh String Tied Meat

Taking over the previous 24 hours Hainanese Curry Rice, we are rather surprise to see Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh joining the row of eatery in The Rail Mall. If you have been to Malaysia Boleh in Jurong Point, Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh should be of no stranger to you.

Shop front of Pao Xiang
It was a quiet night at almost their closing hours that we went in to check out. Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh emphasized in string-tied meat technique which is believed to lower the cholesterol content and help in boosting the herbs flavours in Bah Kut Teh broth.

Menu
Environment is nothing special with simple and straight forward furnishings around. However the environment brings closeness to people with the round table settings, encouraging family and friends to gather and building bond.

Environment
You Tiao, also known as fried dough stick is one of my favourites in a Bah Kut Teh meal. Their dough stick is short and comes in a cute pair which make it easier for consumers to handle as they dipped them into the mouth watering bowl of herbal broth.

You Tiao - $1.60
To maintain its broth warm, they practise serving bowls of Bah Kut Teh under the buring heat. Though it is good that the bowl is shallow and gets heated up easily, as a soup lover, I find that its at disadvantage to me as I finish up the soup rather quickly and requires a top up.

Burning Heat
The good thing about the topping up the broth is that they are never dilute and still bringing out the authentic taste of Bah Kut Teh. We can tell that the intestine had been thoroughly handled as there is no odd smell in it.

Intestine Bak Kut Teh - $6.80
Spare Ribs on the other hand was great! At a slightest pressure, you can remove the meat from the bones easily not mentioning that they had cooked them into the correct tenderness too!

Spare Ribs Bak Kut Teh - $6.80
I prefer dark soup in Bah Kut Teh than white ones and I find that the flavour of soup is better than the usual ones maintaining a good standard of herbal taste without being too overpowering.

Teck Kee Chicken Rice

Craving for some Chinese dishes from the Rail Mall? How about a plate of delicious chicken rice from Teck Kee? If you are not really keen on the rice dishes, you can try out their noodles or porridge as well!

Teck Kee Chicken Rice
Interior dining was big and spacious, all filled with tables in the dining area but still leaving rooms for the walkways.

Dining Area

If you side near the walls, you can see that the condiments are all neatly arranged in the rack which was mounted to the wall.

Condiments
Even its menu is placed on the rack, which make it so convenient for the helpers.

Menu

A simple and interesting soup to pair along with our mains. Hot soups are meant for cool rainy day.
Soup was thick but taste was light and comes with crunchy healthy beansprouts, shredded chicken and slices of mushrooms.

Shredded Chicken Thick Soup - $6
If not for its Laksa Chicken Noodle that was recommended, I would have never enter a Chicken Rice Restaurant like this. The Laksa chicken  noodle had its unique taste whereby its base was thick and aromatic. The bowl of fragrant laksa was made up of Tau Pok and steamed white chicken.

Laksa Chicken Noodle - $4.50
I was carried away by the fragrance of their rice initially when it was being served up to our table. However to our dismay, it was not as fluffy even though the fragrance is there.

Chicken Rice Set

Their steamed white chicken was average, no stark different from those we have from the usual hawker stalls.

Steamed Chicken
Overall, Im quite impressed on the Laksa chicken noodle to its chicken rice. Thus, this makes a reason to patronise them again. Do note that take away service is available.
