Nayana Plus @ Pasir Ris Mall

Nayana Plus (NP) is an extension of Nayana Kpop Cafe & Restaurant (NKCR), established in 2018. Apart from their current extensive spread of authentic Korean cuisine, NP offers a more widespread range of trending food from the Republic, such as Korean-style Shabu Shabu, wraps, novelty desserts, and drinks.

The drink menu was an absolute delight, offering a wide variety of options from cold brews and coolers to Dalgona and hot brew teas. What made it even more exciting were the vibrant, eye-catching colours of the drinks, adding a fun visual element to the experience.

The cooler menu was creatively named after popular Korean dramas, adding a fun twist to the experience. We tried "Crash Landing on You," a refreshing mix of peach and lemon, and "Hospital Playlist," a vibrant blend of pomegranate, orange, and lemon.

We had other intriguing options including "Queens of Tears," a tropical mix of mango, passionfruit, and lemon, and "Reply 1988," a delicate blend of lychee, rose, and lemon. Each cooler brought its own unique flavour combination to the table.

The banchan came beautifully presented in a trio saucer, featuring sweetened lotus root, pickled cucumber, and classic kimchi. Each side dish offered a delightful balance of flavors to complement the meal.

There were several fried chicken options to choose from, and we went with the soy garlic. It was served alongside pickled radish and fried to crispy perfection. The soy garlic sauce complemented the chicken wonderfully, and we all loved it.

The ginseng chicken soup was another hit at the table. The chicken was cooked to tender perfection, with the bones practically disintegrating. The rich, milky broth was served with some glutinous rice, adding extra heartiness. To elevate the flavour of the tender meat, a dip in the accompanying salt and pepper made all the difference.

We decided to try their seafood pancake, and it was wonderfully prepared. Not too greasy, it came pre-cut into manageable pieces, making it easy to share.

For an added treat, we dipped each piece in the accompanying sweet sauce, enhancing the flavours beautifully.

We ordered bossam, and it was fantastic! The tender pork pieces paired beautifully with garlic, cucumber, carrots, and kimchi, all wrapped in fresh lettuce.

We also added the ssamjang dipping sauce for an extra kick. This communal dish was perfect for sharing, making it a delightful addition to our meal.

Wrapping Up

For Desserts, we indulged in a delightful parfait that had the kids absolutely thrilled! It featured a mix of fresh raw cherries and blueberries, paired with fun ingredients like chocopop, a hint of pepper, wafer biscuits, marshmallows, and rich chocolate ice cream. Topped off with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a layer of cheesecake cream, this treat quickly became a favorite.

Boy with Luv - $18

We also treated ourselves to the Ice Cream Bingsu called 'Tom Boy“, wow, the kids were overjoyed! Made with juicy mango chunks, creamy mango ice cream, and fluffy milk shaved ice, it was a refreshingly sweet and satisfying way to wrap up our meal.

Fei Ji Claypot

Fei Ji Claypot has been in Loyang Point food court for many years and I was told that it's very popular. Though there are many eateries in this small neighbourhood mall, I decided to give this stall a try.

Stall of Fei Ji Claypot

I was recommended to try their Claypot Sesame Chicken. The portion of chicken was quite generous and the taste was not as robust. There was no hint of the fragrance of Sesame Chicken and I thought it was more of Claypot Braised Chicken than Sesame Chicken.

The food was decent and I find that the portion is good for a serving of 2 pax. Their service was friendly.

Xin Wang Stewed Soup

While there are not many stalls in Kofu, the soup stall attracts me with its constant queue will be none other than the stall selling nutritious Chinese soups. Being a soup lover, it's hard to resist having that after seeing the varieties of them.

Xin Wang Stewed Soup

Even with 10 kinds of soup on their menu, not every type is available and usually, it left with a few selections at the time of my visit.

The rice (both plain and pumpkin) is free upon every soup order. Do note that their Pumpkin rice runs out fast most of the time.

Winter Melon was well cooked such that with the slightest pressure, it disintegrates easily. The soup was sweet with pork ribs, and wolfberries and has an adequate taste of the cool melon.

The apple and snow pear were cooked to soften with ingredients like the Chinese almond and Pork Ribs were fork tender. The nutritional soup is tasty and not too oily.

One of the common soup on the menu that we will order will be the Lotus Root with Peanut and Pork Rib Soup. The taste of soup was adequate and not bland at all. Peanuts as well as lotus roots were cooked to soften. Pork Ribs on the other hand is tender too.

One of the most popular soups on the Cantonese dining table. There were chunks of old cucumber with red dates and meaty pork ribs. Taste of the soup was naturally sweet and they goes well with a bowl of rice.

While the pork ribs already give a natural sweetness in the base of the soup. The use of carrot as well as sweetcorn had enhanced the taste. Pork ribs were cooked to fall off the bone kind, tender and still retaining the tastiness in the meat.

The expensive soup out of all on the menu. Nonetheless the amount of Pig's stomach given was thinly sliced and generous. The soup was in milky color and sweet with use of wolfberries and was not as peppery as I expected.

Herbal Chicken Soup comes with a big chicken drumstick that was cooked to tender too. The soup had a strong taste of herbal but not bitter. It may looked a tad greasy but overall it is acceptable to me. Beside that starring drumstick,  there are wolfberries and red dates in it.

Another familiar soup that we have will be the Radish Pork Ribs Soup. This homely Chinese soup never fails to lend a natural sweetness to the soup with Radish (Daikon), red dates and pork ribs.
