We ordered their Frogs with Ginger and Spring Onion.

Plain Porridge & Frogs with Ginger & Spring Onions

Surprisingly the taste was good and I'm immediately addicted to the meal. The meat was no doubt tender and the springy texture was addictive. The sauce was sweet savoury thick with a good balance of ginger and spring onions taste.

Yummy

The plain porridge was gooey and topped with some sesame oil as well as spring onion. The taste was so good till the extent that Just by drenching the savoury sauce into this porridge, I can finish the whole pot of the porridge.

Plain Porridge

The dining partner did agree that they tasted great too and mentioned that we will be back Gong Bao Frog Porridge on the next visit.

Thank you Scale Micro Influencers and Hua Zai Frog Porridge Zi Char for the invitation.

Tai Mei Wei SingPost Center

Tai Mei Wei is located at the Basement One of SingPost Center, just in front of the escalator. They are selling Taiwanese Bentos and Snack.

Tai Mei Wei

We made sure our orders were served promptly. The packaging was cute, and illustrated by cartoon characters.

A symphony of flavours and textures within a compact bowl. They offer different spicy levels for the Crispy Salted Chicken and we chose the original taste. The chunks were crispy on the outside and cradling a juicy meat. The bento meal consists of sunny-side eggs, preserved vegetables, mixed vegetables beans and Crispy Salted Chicken Chunks.

Crispy Salted Chicken Bento 盐酥鸡便当 - $6.50

Indulging in the best of both worlds with this Double Happiness Bento. Besides the standard mixed vegetable beans, preserved vegetables fried egg, and Braised pork were aromatic and not greasy. The shredded chicken was juicy and topped with aromatic bits

Simply love the crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It strikes a perfect balance, providing a satisfying crunch that envelops the succulent mushroom within. This snack excels in flavour, leaving me for more.

We had their Wintermelon Bird Nest drink to pair with our meals. It was cooling and not too sweet.

It's good that we can plan ahead our meals by pre-ordering, and setting the delivery dates and times, therefore for myself, I plan ahead a day before for this meal

Our Orders

It feels good when you have food served to your doorsteps especially when you are back from a hard day of work. Apart from the hectic working day, it's a repetitive question that we ask ourselves about "what to eat" in the next meal and scratching, pulling our hair what to cook.

"Uncover" & Reveal

Attracted by the slices of avocado and salmon, I added this to the cart. Juicy Salmon was cooked to perfection and decked with crunchy shredded cabbages, making us forget that we were on a diet.

Ingredients:

Salmon
Sautéed cabbage
Sautéed cherry tomatoes
Shimeji mushrooms
Sliced carrots
Sliced zucchini
Sliced avocado
Diced capsicum
Sunflower seeds

Dressing: Sundried tomato pesto

Drenching my succulent boneless grilled chicken with yummy honey mustard. The chicken has hints of herbal taste and that totally fits the bill.

Fusilli was served with parmesan cheese and I love the Shimeji mushrooms, diced cucumber bits, and the ingredients listed.

DLLM Lok Lok

While we were thinking of dinner locations, my friend suggested this place that serves Lok Lok, a popular Malaysian Street Snack. Basically, these snack are meats and vegetables in skewers, boiled in hot water or deep fried in oil.

Dinner Lok Lok Mou

There are 4 sauces available at the station. Condensed Milk, Chincalok, Sweet Spicy Chilli and Mala Chilli. While I was pondering what was the condensed milk for, my friend explained it best for this is to be paired with the Fried Man Tou.

Sauce Available

DLLM Lok Lok deep-fried every skewer by default and had them coated in savoury and sweet sauce. Regardless of ingredients, each skewer is priced at $1.

Our Order

The food was pleasant and was not over-fried. The good thing is that we did not free "Jelat" after eating them.

Lok Lok

Every item was indeed well-fried. The team running the dinner is pretty young and efficient.

We ordered the Ah Ma Mee which is exactly our instant noodle served in MSG, cooked egg topped with fried shallots. While this dish may look simple and uninteresting, there were actually many of us ordering it to pair with the skewers.

Ah Ma Mee - $2.50

The place is airy and has good airflow. I do not mind being back here again even though the place is a little secluded.

Perhaps if you are missing Malaysian Snacks like this and do not want to cross the border, this can be an alternative selection.

G Meal

For those who love fried chicken and roast chicken, you may want to try out G Meal if you are in Seah Im Food Center. While trying to secure a table during the peak hours, we had ourselves seated in from of G Meal and decided to go for their chicken Rice.

Stall of G Meal

G Meal is not the conventional Chinese Chicken Rice Stall where we get our roasted or poached chicken rice, instead, they are into fried or smoked chicken paired with fries or fragrant rice. They served 2 kinds of chilli, Hainanese chicken rice garlic chili and the usual chilli sauce.

Fried Chicken Cutlet Rice - $6.50

The rice was fragrant and the fried chicken cutlet had a different seasoning apart from the usual chicken cutlet we had. It was fragrant and the layer of batter was softer, not too much of a rough texture.

Fried Chicken Cutlet

There was a smoky taste in the half chicken. The outer layer of skin tasted yummy but the chicken meat was on a dry side.

Half Smoke Chicken with Rice - $6.50

Overall, the menu was rather straightforward, having smoked/fried chicken paired with either fries or rice. The food was served on a big plate which makes the meal's portion look little. It will be completed if there are sides like vegetables to strike out a balanced meal or make the dish a little bit more interesting.

Kim Heng (HK) Roasted Delights

How about getting your roasted meats fix at Kim Heng (HK) Roasted Delights? This unassuming yet aromatic corner of gastronomic delight has captured the attention and appetites of discerning food lovers, promising an unparalleled journey into the realm of succulent flavours and masterfully roasted meats.

Kim Heng (HK) Roasted Delights

Our Orders

Everything was roasted quite nicely.

Char Siew was well caramelized and tender. Roasted duck skin was quite tasty.  For the savoury gravy that is supposed to be drenched and paired with our rice, they had it served in a separate bowl so we can pour the amount we preferred.

Roasted Duck Char Siew with Roasted Pork Rice - $7.30

The skin achieves a perfect crispness, a harmonious contrast to the tender and juicy meat beneath.

Roasted Duck

Though Caramelised, the Char Siew was not overly sweet.

Char Siew

Roasted pork had a crispy crackle and a good crunch in the bite while the roasted chicken was not dry and surprisingly juicy. The Chilli sauce was sweet and slightly spicy. Good for dipping the roast items in it.

Roasted Chicken Roasted Pork Rice - $6.30

Beside the yummy roasted meal, I’m very glad to see a good selection of Soups available. We had the salted vegetables duck and the sweet corn pork ribs soup, they were tasty and perfect pairing for the meal.

It has a robust and savoury profile. The broth was infused with the richness of duck and had a well balanced of saltiness from the preserved vegetables. The saltiness level was just right, enhancing the overall taste without overwhelming the palate. It was hearty and a satisfying bowl of soup together with the plates of Roasted Delights.

Salted Veg Duck Soup - $3.30

A heartwarming delight that skillfully balances sweetness and savoury notes. Love this homestyle bowl of soup that has the sweetness from the corn kernels complemented by the pork ribs, making it both comforting and savoury.

Sweet Corn & Pork Rib Soup - $3.30

Besides this stall in Toa Payoh North, they have one located in Serangoon Avenue 4 and 21 Seng Kang West Ave.
