Ms Durian

There's been plenty of buzz from media and radio stations about Ms Durian's 6th anniversary celebration and it’s no wonder why. They're going all out with a whimsical Forbidden Forest theme that’s got everyone talking. Sounds like a magical durian-filled experience not to be missed.

Ms Durian

The first swing of the door led me straight into a beautifully enchanting forest setting. What immediately caught my attention was the striking manmade durian husk bench placed right in front, alongside a charming waterfall feature created with blue LED lights and soft drapes. Scattered props on the ground mimicked rocks, adding to the whimsical atmosphere.

Enchanting!

It was truly heartwarming to see the amount of thought and effort owner Ling Goh and her team poured into this 6th anniversary celebration.

Forbidden Forest Theme

It was such fun putting on those safety helmets, it felt like we were stepping into a durian plantation, where a durian could drop from above at any moment without warning.

Safety Helmets

It added a playful and immersive touch to the whole experience, making the themed celebration even more memorable.

Put on your helmets, durians might drop anytime!

We had our dinner tucked away in a cozy corner of the café, surrounded by the charming forest-themed setting. I loved the ambiance, with durian trees and branches thoughtfully placed around us, it felt like dining in a little durian grove.

Our Dinner Setting

The decorations were meticulously detailed, with the durian elements creatively depicted as if they had fallen onto the ground, surrounded by a puddle of water that reflected them like a mirror. It was such a thoughtful touch! I’m curious where they drew so much inspiration from for that design.

Durian Lamp

Given the amount of space, it looks like it would be a great spot for hosting parties. It seems like the kind of place that could bring a lot of fun and energy to any event!

Space

The space is so expansive that they even have a gravelled ground for a glamping theme! It must be a blast to relax in the tents and enjoy the open sky.

Enjoy your outdoor dining

Tentages

Campfire?

It looks especially cool when the night falls, with the whole atmosphere transforming into something magical.
Glamping

For their non-airconditioned seating area, they’ve created a lovely garden-themed setting, with plants all around that make you feel completely surrounded by nature. It’s a refreshing and calming atmosphere—almost like dining in a cozy little greenhouse.

Plant

As someone who enjoys cycling, I was instantly drawn to their dessert cart when I noticed the Shimano gear shifters, it was such a delightful touch. I found out that the cart is mainly used for their events.

Push Cart

It’s beautifully crafted, complete with an umbrella for shade and decorative durians on display. The whole setup was charming and inviting.

I just got a durian

From 22 March to 30 April 2025, every $66 spent in a single receipt earns you a spin on their sure-win gachapon machine, where you can score exclusive prizes. I’ve got my eye on those quirky Durian Bedroom Slippers, just imagine padding around the house in those!

Sure-Win Treasure Dip

We had the Sambal Mushroom for sharing. The sautéed mushrooms were packed with umami, cooked with fragrant sambal belacan, garlic, and dried prawns. Each bite delivered bold and savoury flavours that kept us going back for more.

That's a bold and exciting move! MSW Durian Nasi Lemak going permanent on the menu! That says a lot about how well it was received.

MSW Durian Nasi Lemak with Chicken Wing - $17.50

Durian with rice might raise eyebrows here in Singapore, but it’s definitely got deep roots in Malaysia.

Crispy Chicken Wing

The use of Mao Shan Wang flesh within the coconut rice sounds like a clever and indulgent twist, not just durian on the side, but really infused into the core of the dish. Fragrant, rich, and creamy grains must pair beautifully with the savoury-sweet components of traditional nasi lemak.

MSW Durian Nasi Lemak with Batang Fish - $21.50

Beautifully Fried Batang Fish

All the classic accompaniments, sunny side up egg, crispy ikan bilis, fried peanuts, cooling cucumber slices, that housemade sambal and then a juicy protein of choice? Sounds like a feast with layers of flavor and texture.

Calling all cheese lovers, this one's perfect for sharing. Creamy brie is paired with a trio of berry compote, topped with fresh parsley and shavings of grana padano. A lovely mix of sweet, savoury, and creamy all in one bite.

We shared a plate of mini hash browns, crisped up beautifully with a satisfying crunch in every bite. They were served with a side of Thousand Island sauce and a sprinkle of spring onions for a touch of freshness, simple, comforting, and perfect for sharing.

Tater Tots - $10

For those who enjoy kaya toast, this is one you definitely shouldn’t miss! My friend, who had tried it before, was casually singing praises for this dessert. The MSW durian was generously slathered on crispy white toast, paired perfectly with a slab of salted butter, what a decadent twist on a local classic!

MSW Durian Kaya Toast - $12.80

Introducing their Kaya Mao Shan Wang Durian Cake, a delightful fusion of rich, velvety durian and house-made durian kaya. The balance is spot on, with just the right ratio of durian kaya layered over soft, spongy cake. It’s indulgent yet not overly cloying, making each bite a satisfying treat.

Here comes the Charcoal Bomb, a delectable explosion of durian goodness encased in a mochi yam crust.

It’s a riot of textures in every bite: velvety-rich creamy MSW ice cream, wrapped in chewy mochi, and finished with crunchy biscuit bits. An indulgent treat that’s as fun to eat as it is satisfying.

Ms Durian continues to impress with its creative themes, quality durian offerings, and cozy atmosphere. It's a go-to spot for durian lovers and dessert adventurers alike, always blending indulgence with imagination.

The boys were eager for another serving, but unfortunately, the lime rice had already sold out. So, we settled for just the Indo Grilled Chicken (Ayam Bakar) drumstick. The chicken was expertly grilled, boasting rich flavours while remaining tender and juicy—absolutely delicious!

Ayam Bakar

All in all, we found the food to be delightful, and this was our first time experiencing Indonesian fast food in Singapore. It was a satisfying introduction to the flavors and dishes of Indonesia.

The Beer People Co. 啤酒大叔

Heard of this popular spot in Jalan Besar area? Whether you are looking for a light bite or a full foodie experience, this place is not to be missed for they have over more than 150 Asian Beers and the yummy Thai Food from Nummun Thai Kitchen.

The Beer People Co.

I was impressed by the array of more than 150 types of beers while walking beside the rows of chillers, it was awe-inspiring especially since they had beers of different tastes like sour.

Beer Place

Taking notice of what was hung on the wall we noticed numerous kinds of Breweries indicated. With so many different types of beers in the chiller, it's evident too.

Beer Brands & Breweries

While at the side of the chiller, they have indicated the type and taste of Alcohol, allowing customers to choose what they like.  In this case, this section of beers are sour and gose.

Categories of Alcohol

While over this section, its mostly Pilsner and Lager.  Their Happy Hour is till 7.30pm daily and you can even buy any 3 beers and get 20% off. Just get a basket at the side and drop the bottles and cans in.

Happy Hour

This series of beers is rather interesting. It relates to our lifestyle in Singapore with Musang King, Kueh Salat, Kaya Toast etc.

Local Flavours?

Sweet or Sour beer? Get impressed and enlightened by some quirky names on the can too. It's all yours to choose.

Sour or Sweet Beers?

Telok Ayer Papa, anyone?

Any Familar?

If you feel crazy or Insane, do head for these bunnies.

Bunny Series

This series gave us the oriental feel of enjoying a beer with Chinese tea.

Tea & Beer

Besides the King Kong and Gorilla, we were also drawn to the colorful illustrations on the cans like this.

Gorilla & King Kong

While the Sunbird series they had in their chillers.

The Sunbird Series

Yes! Here's some Mou Tai from the bottle.

The Cat

We were drawn to the cute mascot and the local snack "Kueh Salat". It was said to be a National Day Drink. The colour was dark purple.

Kueh Salat

I was thrilled when I saw that their menu was Thai Food by Nummun Thai Kitchen as this Thai Food place is one of my top choices for Thai Cuisine.

We had Grilled Pork Skewers for Appetizers, better known as "Moo Ping". The grilled sweet-tasting Skewers were inviting. The marinade with the grilling process caramelized the sugar, adding a delightful smoky char to the meat. We love the moist and succulent texture of the Skewers.

Grilled Pork Skewers (4 pcs) - $12

The given sauce on the other hand was sweet and a tad spicy. Dipping them into the dipping sauce and enhancing the overall experience.

Dipping into Sauce

Here comes the most iconic dishes of Thai Cuisine, Pad Thai. It is known for its perfect balance of flavours and texture.

Phad Thai - $10

We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and we simply enjoyed the harmonious blend of sweetness, saltiness and sour taste. Its aroma and texture were already good enough to appeal to us.

Whao I love that!

Pork Trotter Rice is also known as Khao Kha Moo in Thai Cuisine, is a comfort food providing a rich and hearty dining experience. No doubt that the rice did not come with much gravy, the pork trotter was already yummy in its deep, savoury flavours. The pork trotters was tender and the slow cooking process infused the meat with a complex blend of sweet, and saltiness, making each bite incredibly flavourful.

Pork Trotter with Rice - $12

The Papaya Salad, also known as Som Tum, is a vibrant & refreshing dish. The crispy & shredded green papaya provides a crunchy texture complemented by the sweet and tangy dressing made of fish sauce, lime juice etc. Tomatoes & peanuts elevated the salad as well as a kick of heat from the Thai Chilies, creating a delightful interplay of sweet, sour, salty and spicy notes. This is a perfect starter.

Papaya Salad - $10

Be it a light bite or a full meal, if you enjoy Thai Food, these are two of the recommendations for the mains on their menu.

The Mains

The beers definitely goes well with the sides, especially the Moo Ping!

The Sides

Good Food, Good Beer. It's definitely the kind of place that I would want to chill out and laze myself around. For gatherings, this is a good spot for food and beer.
