Siang Garden

We visited this corner of the industrial food canteen one of the evenings and decided to have our meals there at Siang Garden. Like many canteen, there will be a Cze Char stall is always.

Siang Garden

Grab their Fish Head Steamboat Promo at 50% off. For a $40, Small Portion, you will pay just $20 or $30 for the large portion. Their Promotion is valid from Monday to Friday after 3pm. For Weekend and Public Holiday, 11am - 9pm.

We enjoy their charcoal Fish Head Steamboat, which offers a delicious blend of flavours and texture with yam, tomatoes, vegetables, fried fish, etc.

Charcoal Hot Pot - $20 (Small)

The broth has subtle herbal notes and a rich satisfying flavour that enhances the meal.

Fish Chunks

We even enjoyed the thick chunks of fish that were used in the steamboat. These chunks were fried fish before putting them into the steamboat.

Fish

We enjoyed the Fish Head Steamed boat with some other Zi Char Dishes. We ordered seafood white bee hoon too. It was moist and quite a decent dish without too much elaboration for their ingredients were pretty standard with eggs, vegetables, Lala, prawns and squid.

Seafood White Bee Hoon

The Prawn Paste Chicken was voted the better side dishes we ordered. It was well executed with prawn paste marinate and a crispy outer skin.  A satisfying crunch gives way to the tender meat beneath. Beware of that instant burst of rich, spicy juice that floods one's mouth also ended with a fiery symphony of flavors igniting the taste buds.

Prawn Paste Chicken

The Seafood Tofu is a comforting dish always from the Cze Char Stall. Served in a claypot with assorted ingredients like mushrooms, tofu, snow peas, squid, prawns, carrots etc soaked in the gooey sweet gravy. It can be eaten alone or paired it with a bowl of white rice.

Seafood Tofu - $19

Overall, the place was quite airy and not so crowded in the evening when we had our meals there. The food overall was decent. There is also Free Parking available at Lor Bakar Batu after 5pm.

Damascus Delight

Enjoy the authentic Syrian food from Damascus Delights which is conveniently located outside Tampines MRT. This is "owned and operated by Damascus-born chef Abdulhadi "Hadi" Al Saadi. They offer a good range of Sharwana from wraps, rice and Sharwana bowls.

Damascus Delights

Here's how the Chicken and our Mutton were prepared for the wraps!

Shredding in Action

The combination of tender, spiced lamb with tangy sauces wrapped in soft flatbread creates a harmonious and satisfying meal. Whether enjoyed as a quick lunch or a casual dinner, this wrap is sure to delight with its rich flavours and varied textures.

Sharwana Wrap Lamb

The Sharwana Wrap Chicken is a delicious and popular Middle Eastern dish. Comparing this to the Mutton Wrap, this is on the greasy side.

Yosakoi Japanese Food Alley

I noticed a familiar name "Japanese Food Alley" as I walked pass the shophouses in Clementi Avenue 2. Out of curiosity and wanting a Japanese Meal to fix my cravings, we settled down for a meal here. Environment was good because it was not too crowded and we had to "snatch" seats during the rush hours.

Japanese Food Alley

Upon exchanging some words with the boss of the shop, it was confirmed that I had actually patronized them during the time when they were in Holland area.

Japanese Food Alley

They are keeping their authentic Japanese meal and price the same as the place they relocated from.

Menu

While waiting for our mains, we had these local canned drinks sipping down our throat.

Canned Drink - $2.20 Each

The Pork Fillet Katsu was good for sharing. A delightful contrast between the crispy breaded outer layer and the juicy, tender pork inside. The combination of the rich meat, tangy sauce, and fresh cabbage creates a harmonious flavour profile. Each bite is a mix of textures and tastes, from the crunch of the panko to the softness of the pork and the sauce's tanginess.

Tonkatsu On Hotplate - $10.90

Simply love the variety of fresh diced raw fish and other ingredients like egg, mushrooms, fish roes and cucumber with ginger served over the bed of sushi rice. Combining fresh fish, seasoned rice, and colourful toppings creates a harmonious and satisfying meal.

Bara Charashi Don - $17.50

They pride themselves for their food has no MSG included. The salted Egg Yolk Tonkotsu Ramen is kind of fusion and was pretty well executed without overpowering taste. It has added some creaminess on top of the broth. Simply combine the best of both worlds: the comforting, umami-packed tonkatsu broth and the luxurious, creamy salted egg yolk.

Salted Egg Yolk Tonkotsu Ramen - $11.50

The harmony of textures and the depth of flavours make it a memorable and satisfying dining experience.

Soon Lee Fishball Noodle

The competition remains tough with numerous Fishball Noodle Stalls in West Coast Market Square. Well, I will say each stall has their own supporters and fans. By the glance of the long snakey queue in front of Soon Lee Fishball Noodles, it's quite obvious why this stall has been there for decades.

Stall of Soon Lee Fishball Noodle

Here comes the bowl of nostalgic taste of Minced Meat Fishball Noodles. The Soup tasted good with 2 meatballs, 3 fishballs with vegetables, and "dong cai". Mee Pok on the other hand was well tossed in the sauces topped with minced meat and slices of fish cakes.

Mee Pok Dry - $4

Perhaps this is the longest time ever I had queued for Soon Lee Fishball Noodle, demanding a 30 minutes wait in queue on a weekend. No doubt it was simply executed, it still bring a good childhood taste that I believe the repeating patrons are going for.

Tung Lok

Having a Buffet has never been considered, but Tung Lok's Buffet has given me a different view.  If not for friends meetup, I would have never known such an interesting buffet that Tung Lok had brought us. We had their Seafood Dinner Buffet with cost:

Adult: $43.80++
Child: $33.80++ (Below 12 years old)

While in their Ala Carte Buffet Menu, there are some exceptions that the diners need to know. A few items can only be ordered and served once while the rest can be catered for unlimited servings.

For Example, the Braised Shark's Fin with Fish Maw is limited to 1 pax per serving. It was a good start to keep our dinner rolling.

Enjoy the bowl of Chinese delicacy with vinegar and pepper.

Added Condiments

Another Delicacy that is limited to 1 Serving Per Table will be none other than the chilli crab served with Man Tou.

Chilli Crab (served with ‘Man Tou’) 辣椒螃蟹伴馒头

These buns were crusty on the exterior and pillow soft on the interior. Pairing them with the chilli crab sauce was fantastic.

Man Tou

A Dim Sum staple, the Pan-fried XO carrot cake with sausage was fried with bean sprouts and topped with spring onions. The natural sweet taste of egg wrapping up the plain cubes of carrot cake.

A different style of clam served from the usual ones I had. The taste was well-balanced and not salty at all. I could not stop just at one calm

Enjoy a plate of Seafood Horfun loaded with beautiful egg gravy. The Wok Hei taste from the Hor Fun was laudable and ingredients were a handful.

A simple execution of the dish yet makes it so delicious with Scallion Oil and topped with fried onions.

The Drunken Herbal Prawn broth was herby and sweet tasting to my liking.

Sweet & Vinegary Coated pieces of bite-size Pork Ribs were tasty and definitely an addiction to us.

Here comes another prawn dish, the deep-fried prawn with crispy oats. Fragrant and inviting dish too.

Big and sweet Sauteed scallops were succulent and pleasant with the French beans and capsicums.

Tender slices of beef was uniformly coated with sauce. Delicious.

The deep-fried sea bass with soy sauce was to my liking too. It was crispy in the exterior and meat was tender and fresh. The fragrant soy sauce enhanced its taste too.

The Chilled Jellyfish with Pomelo Sauce was refreshing topped with roasted sesame. The shredded cucumber was crunchy, adding a different texture to the cold dish.

Here's another cold dish of our liking. The garlic vinegar sauce complements the eggs perfectly, making it a standout dish. This dish is sure to impress guests with its bold flavours and elegant presentation.

Fresh & Yummy. I was kind of surprised that they are also serving Salmon Sashimi.

Chilled Herbal Jelly with Honey, Chilled Aloe Vera ‘Ai Yu’ Jelly, Green Bean Soup & Ice Cream puff were what we had before ending our buffet meal.

Tung Lok's Seafood has already spoken for itself as there are many returning customers. Considering a weekday night, the place was already bustling. It's a good place for business gatherings especially when one is craving for varieties and a Ala Carte Buffet.

Cheeky Bee Hoon (Lucky Plaza)

Cheeky Bee Hoon has been viral for quite sometimes back and is known for their Malaysian handmade Bee Hoon dishes.

Cheeky Bee Hoon

The Bee Hoon gave a twist to the usual Bee Hoon we had as it was curly with an appearance that looked like instant noodles but a texture of Mee Kia. It was quite confusing if I was not told that it was Bee Hoon. Toss them in the Sambal Chilli Sauce and this gave the meal a piquant flavour. Pairing this with the soft and braised pork was simply delicious while the crispy pork lards elevated the texture too. Irresistible.

Cheeky Braised Pork Bee Hoon (Dry) - $7.80

Cheeky Signature Bee Hoon comes with option of Soup or Dry. It was worth mentioning for the bowl of Signature Bee Hoon Soup was overwhelmed with ingredients like Lala, Meat Ball, Minced Meat,  vegetables and topped with Goji Berries as well as two types of onions to elevate the taste.

Cheeky Signature Bee Hoon (Soup / Dry) - $10.50

The Charcoal You Tiao was crispy and stuffed with Otah fillings. It was inviting and addictive for me.

Charcoal You Tiao - $1.80

The Crab Dumplings Soup comes with 3 plump dumplings. The crab fillings were encased by the soft and chewy dumpling skin. This side if pretty okay for us just that the soup was a tad peppery for us.

Crab Dumplings Soup - $4.80

Take a look at the dumpling fillings. Pairing the dumplings with their Signature Sauce makeup of peanuts and coriander.

We had a delicious meal from Cheeky Bee Hoon.
