A revisit to Taste Good in Sim Lim Square for more food! In fact, this hidden gem has close to 15 years of history, renowned as the home of the original salted egg. This family-friendly Cze Char place offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. From savoury classics to innovative creations, their menu is sure to delight every palate.

Taste Good

Every serving of rice comes with a fried egg. The spicy Lemongrass fish sauce with fried fish was nicely done with hints of the fish head curry dish with spices. It was a tad spicy but on an addictive side. Fish came in fried nuggets and was generously coated in the gooey sauce.

We visited Taste Good the last round with the craving to try this.  Salted Egg Chicken with Rice was creamy and packed with savoury Salted Egg Yolk taste. Pairing the luscious sauce and runny egg onto the white rice was simply heavenly.

Buttermilk Pork Ribs with Rice was creamy too and tasted savoury. The pieces of pork ribs were fried and had the buttermilk sauce together with curry leaves and bird eye chilli in it, giving a little spicy kick to it.

If you are a Cereal Dish Lover, you will definitely enjoy this dish for its fragrance and the Cereal Floss in there. Unlike the 3 other dishes ordered, this is a crispy option without having any sauce on it. 

Cereal Fish With Rice - $7

The price of the dishes seems pretty reasonable compared its portion and taste. Orders came in promptly to our table without much delay. We also have a comforting bowl of soup to share. It was a nostalgic taste of seaweed soup with lean meat and egg, simple and straight forward. Indeed good to go light on our tastebuds after the "heavy" taste of the rice dishes.

As overall, their dishes still stand out above average and perhaps I will be visiting this place every time instead of the food court whenever I need to have a meal in Sim Lim Square.
