Solepomodoro

Solepomodoro was recently published in the Epicure magazine for its Pizza. I did a reservation a few days back before my actual visit and got a prompt confirmation via email.

Located diagonally opposite the Rex Threatre and accessible via MRT as little Indian Station is just a stone throw away. If you are travelling by car, parking is free after 5pm on weekdays at the open space carpark opposite.

As we walked into the restaurant, there was no customer at all and I was kind of shocked. We were then approached by the server as he pointed to the black board saying that there will be no pasta served starting from 18 June 2014.

Nevertheless we still decided to carry on on our "makan" session to try out its pizza.

Environment

Menu was presented to us in pages nailed to a wooden board.

Loaf of bread was cut into bite size cubes accompanied by chilled gazpacho sauce. It was both refreshing and cool as we enjoy these while waiting for our pizza and L’ANTIPASTO (starters).

Starters with Gazpacho Sauce

Simply love their home-made meatballs in spicy tomato sauce and garlic crouton. The meatballs was made up of beef as well as pork. Dish was not really spicy and the puree from the tomato had complemented the meatballs well.

The Capricciosa Highly advocated by the server for its amount of ingredients on the pizza. Intially we wanted to try their specialty and blue cheese was one of the ingredients. Not many of us can take the taste and smell of blue cheese, thus we had to give it a miss.

With tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushroom, roasted ham, artichoke and salami on the thin crust pizza where its edge was charred with crispiness, it was delighting to enjoy such bites. Our expectations were all met from the place of wood-fired pizza and it just never disappoint.

Unfortunately, we learnt from the server that there will be no more pasta available and they will be closing down soon. Thus I have concluded that this will be my first and last in Solepomodoro. :(
