Chock Full of Beans

Updated October 2021

This is my return trip to Chock Full of Beans (CFOBs) and as compared to the last visit, it's not a surprise that the crowd was a vast difference due to the pandemic. Basically, the place was almost empty on a Sunday evening, that's how bad business was.

With a few selections of cakes in the fridge, I decided to order the last piece of Tiramisu. The texture was spongy with espresso flavoured ladyfinger layered together with mascarpone cheese topped with cocoa powder.

The price and taste of the cake remain as per of my last visit. Rich and chocolaty, if you are a chocolate lover, you will love this.

For non-coffee drinkers like me, their menu is rather limited with drinks that come with 2D Art. With their recommendation, I had a cup of brown rice matcha. The taste was good and I'm served with snoopy in my cup.

I was told that for 3D Art, we need to wait at least 30 minutes and we waited for this Ice Mocha. At the look of it, the art had melted us. The pleading face kind of makes us unbearable to destroy it.

It's not often that we get to travel to an extreme end of Singapore for food and many times we tried visiting Chock Full of Beans (CFOBs) but the place was always very packed. When we were in the East by chance we decided to try our luck again. Although the air-conditioned seating was fully occupied, we were quite happy taking up the outdoor seating.

While waiting for our beverages, both Dark Chocolate and New York Cheese Cake were served first.
Our cakes were presented in plate with some cartoon characters drawn by chocolate syrup.

That's after meal indulgence! We enjoyed the dark chocolaty cake. The sweetness was just right even with chocolate drizzling down the cake.

The New York Cheese cake was not too bad too. It's moist and not cloying, the only portion that I do not like about it was its base as it was too hard.

Here's the Big Hero on my chocolate. Isn't it cute?

Chocolate -  $5.50 (Regular)
Not sure what is the character but the cup of hot Mocha was so adorable and it took us quite sometime to drink it up even after taking photos of it.

Here presenting the 3D art on coffee whereby such art was talk of the town in the social media years back. The art is done upon request and requires up to 30 minutes of waiting time. 3D art can only be done on their selected cold beverages.

It's Instagram worthy if you do not mind the waiting time. Awww... we can't bear to drink up the cup of Ice Hazelnut latte so fast even though it's strong and aromatic.

Pricing wise, I think they are rather competitive with artwork on the drinks. If you are game for some Latte art to make your day and do not mind travelling to Changi Village, Chock Full of Beans can be a good place.
