Li Wan Zhou Pin 荔湾粥品

Li Wan Zhou Pin has been opened last than one month ago in West Coast Market Square occupying a unit besides the Yong Tau Foo stall. Business has been going well ever since day one, perhaps they are the only porridge stall opened during lunch times.

Every order was cooked on the spot except the porridge that had been already prepared. However when it comes to someone ordering the claypot dishes (e.g frog legs, livers), the queue will slow down suddenly as it takes a little while to prepare that. Other than that, to get each bowl of order, it usually takes less than 5 minutes.

The sliced meat and meat balls porridge tasted not bad with tasty lean meat and meat balls. One thing to take note that all their porridge was scalding hot and the fried fritters or "you tiao" was fried by themselves.

For those who love Century eggs might consider having the lean meat with century egg porridge. This version is similar to former less the meatballs and with fresh century egg slices stirred among the porridge.

Overall, the porridge that Li Wan served is very bland and one has to squeeze some soya sauce for additional taste. For those who like to have a very bland and light meal, the shredded chicken is the perfect choice.

Without the additional garnishing like "dong cai" and onions, it at least enhance the taste level of these bowls of plain white porridge.

Seafood Porridge is one of the expensive ones among the bowls of porridge sold, less those in the claypots. The ingredients are more special when compared to the rest and in terms of varieties they are the best choice. It comes with cuttlefish, shredded chicken, braised peanuts and fish slices.

Their porridge are of decent serving, the only difficulties that we are facing are its queue during peak hours especially when lunch times are limited and we cant simply slurp them down our throat with such hot porridge.
