All I know about China Street is the Hock Lam Beef Noodle and Far East Square. I haven't heard of Nam Seng until I was told that this is the stall that my buddy always wanted to visit but he could not match the operating hours.
The noodle may look unappealing, plain and not appetizing but do not judge a book by its cover. In fact the noodle was springy, chewy and won't lump together among the light soy sauce. Simple yet flavourful. Wantons on the other hand had its unique style in the usual ingredients but the soup is not the usual ones we had from Hawker Centres. Yes, its peppery and kind of having some prawns flavour in it.

Wanton Mee - $5 (Big) |
I prefer those red velvety colored Char Siew (BBQ Pork) slices but on a second thought the meat here looks clearer and lean.

The instant satisfaction that it had given me was a surprise. I had never imagined that a dumpling was filled with generous amount of ingredients especially the little dices of chestnuts that gave the crunch in the bites. Prawns and minced meat with marinates sum up the yummy pieces of dumpling soup we ordered.

With the old granny around, I learnt that the stall has a long history behind. The style of Wanton Mee is seen appreciated by lots of them in the previous generation. If you are looking to reminisce the old school days of Wanton Mee, Nam Seng is definitely a good choice.
