Bangkok Day 1

Traveling to Bangkok is one of the most popular destinations in Singapore as it is a shopping, massage and food heaven. Moreover, with so many budget airs flying to Bangkok at an affordable and attractive pricing, its hard not to resist.

Arrival in Bangkok
We decided to spend our New Year in Bangkok. The flight from Singapore to Bangkok is approximately 2 hours.

Upon reaching Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok), passing through immigration and have our lugguage picked. Going to Bangkok City Centre in 3 Easy Ways as suggested on the board.

We can either travel by their Limousine, Public Taxi at stated Service Counter on the first floor and taking Airport Rail Link at B Floor. There is also a caution telling us to avoid contacting any person offering service without authorization from the service counters.

Upon exiting at the pickup and clearance, I did what I normally did and is to look out for their Telecom booth in the search of prepaid SIM Card for my days in Bangkok.

World's Best Mobile Technology - dtac
There are 3 booth and apparently 7 Day Stay is the shortest with unlimited Internet (Maximum Speed up to 1.5GB) and Free 100 Baht call credit at 299 Baht.

Prepaid Card
Our stomachs were groaning as we did not have our lunch on board and we decided to have some Thai Food at S & P.

Thereafter, we headed to the Airport Rail Link and Paid 35 Baht to Makkasan which is connected to MRT.

Station Amount

Upon paying, I was given a yellow token to travel valid from the Airport to Makkasan. To enter, all we need to do is to scan the token on the gantry machine and drop off the coin into the slot when we exit.

Property of Airport Rail Link Token
The station looks very empty when we reached.

Station Overview
Look out for the direction to Makkasan.

Suvarnabhumi Ariport Rail Link
Upon exiting the station and this is what we saw. It's so congested in Bangkok.

Bangkok's Traffic
As our Hotel is located in Asok (BTS Station) and Sukhumvit (MRT) we have to take their MRT to Sukhumvit.

Metro to Sukhumvit
Tune Hotel Asok is just located next to Asok (BTS) station within 5 minute walk and also within walking distance to mall like Terminal 21, Time Square and Robinson. Not forgetting that there is one popular Authentic Thai Restaurant, Suda Restaurant, located right at the corner of the road leading to the hotel.

Suda Restaurant
We arrived around evening in Tune Hotel Asok and basically we went exploring Terminal 21 and had our dinner there in MK.
