Jimmy Monkey Cafe & Bar

I heard a far bit on the cafe's playful name "Jimmy Monkey". With many Cafes sprouting out recently, competition gets stiffer. Nestled among the lush greenery among the residences in Biopolis, it seems a little out of the place to get here. However, if you are travelling via MRT, it is just one stop away from Holland Village.

Menu was rather straight forward, 2 pages of printed words on white A4 size of papers clipped on a board.

As the Cafe is sitting on a Melbourne, Austrialian theme cafe, its interior was quaint and rustic. A pretty place with high ceilings, layback and quiet, ideal for studying and relaxing.

Hot Chocolate was served with a packet of biscuit and comes with latte art. It lacked the chocolate taste that I'm looking for. Well, the taste was not as strong as I had thought.

While many of them come here for the coffee, no trip here is completed without a cup of it.

Egg Benedict had given me a little surprise with 3 English Muffins on the plate and each of them having their on taste where X comes with Salmon which were sliced thinly accompanied with few slices of tomato and egg. While what we had on Y was Pancetta and egg and Z, with streaky bacons. I had chosen poached eggs to be served out of other options available. The eggs were skillfully done and topped with hollandise sauce.

As compared to Mr Benedict, JM's lazy breakfast was plain and unappealing, totally fits the name for the dish, "lazy". We have topped up the plain dish with sauteed mix wild mushrooms on top of our toasts and poach eggs. Breakfast on this plate was simple with butter and some jam.

Overall, if you want to enjoy the tranquility and relax over a meal, I would say Jimmy Monkey Cafe can be one of the choices to stay away from the bustling city. On the other hand, I find that the food pricing may be a little stretch on the wallets.
