I opted for the dry version of the Mixed Porky Prawn Noodle, and it didn’t disappoint. The noodles were perfectly cooked and came with a generous mix of ingredients, including intestine, skin, lean meat, prawns, and beansprouts. Each element added a unique texture and flavour to the dish, making it a satisfying and well-balanced meal. The dry version really allowed the ingredients to shine, with the sauce tying everything together beautifully.

Set A comprises braised pork rice and Sambal Kangkong, which make for a hearty meal. The pork is braised to a melt-in-your-mouth texture, perfectly paired with a braised egg and pickles for added flavour and texture contrast. The rich, savoury gravy drenching the pearl rice is especially addictive, enhancing each bite. The sambal kangkong adds a spicy and fresh vegetable component, rounding out the meal nicely.

I thought visiting at 2 pm for lunch would mean avoiding the crowd, but I was wrong—the queue was still vigorous! The prawn broth had a delightful umami flavour simmered for 14 hours to perfection without being overly rich, which suited my taste perfectly. The queue definitely speaks for the restaurant's reputation, and it was clear why it remains popular even during off-peak hours
