Cheong Kee Soup Lembu Beef Noodle 章记牛腩粉

While the night food Street at Ipoh Tong Sui Kai were not full flag opened at our visited timing. We just passed by here to have a feel of the "day vibe" of this place. I was told that there is a rule to abide if we were to dine in at this food street and that is, we have to sit at the designated place around the food stall that we placed our food.

Stall No. 47

Stall no. 47 was seen as one of the earliest stall to be opened among other stalls at about 5pm and to my surprise, there were already alot of tables with bowls of Cheong Kee Beef Noodles.

Stall of Cheong Kee Soup Lembu Beef Noodle

The team of slim looking 2 eldery couples, perhaps in their mid 70s, were very busy handling the non stop incoming orders of the walk-in customers. No doubt they are in a team of 4, each of them seem having their delegated duties and was working on it diligently ever since the stall opening.

While sitting right next to the stall, I can smell the intermittent gentle burning of charcoal smoke coming towards my way. I looked everywhere for BBQ stalls but only to realise that Cheong Kee Soup Lembu Beef Noodle uses such traditional charcoal method in boiling their soup.

Slicing up the beef

We added 2 beef balls to the small bowl of Lembu noodles. We were not serious about having full meal for dinner but more on trying on the local delicacies thus we had the smaller portion.

The soup was light and sweet tasting with a small portion of beef mixture.

Bowl of Beef Noodles - RM 6 (Small)

The humble bowl of beef noodles were packed full of nostalgic taste. Initially, I find that it tasted rather ordinary but as I kept sipping down spoons after spoons of the broth, I can comprehend the reason of the crowd.

Simplicity is the best with additional Beef Balls at RM 0.80 each

The bowl of Beef Noodles tasted warm to the stomach and I can definitely understand the reason behind the continuous incoming queue of this stall. It's may not be rated the best but simply pack full of homely flavours.

Hor Fun

If you happen to be in Tong Sui Kai, the stall is recommended for its simple yet nostalgic taste.
