If you have been to Heap Seng Leong, you would have known of this Malay Stall just located right in front of the coffee shop offering Nasi Lemak and the freshly made on the spot Sardine and Curry Puffs.
Malay Stall of Heap Seng Leong |
While lining up in the queue for our traditional Breakfast from Heap Seng Leong, I was distracted by the handmade process of Curry Puffs from the Malay Stall right in front of the Coffeeshop. I observed the process of making the puffs from moulding the shape to having them deep-fried in the pot of oil.
Scooping the Fillings for the Curry Puff |
The stall was manned by a few members, each having their delegated tasks. There are two kinds of puff, the Sardine and the Curry Potato Puff. These puffs were lined up neatly on the tray after filling and folding them.
Frying the puff |
Thereafter, they were being placed into the pot of oil for deep frying. I waited quite a while for the puff to be freshly fried out of the pot.

Sardine Puff - $1.20 |
The sardine puff has a mixture of sour and spice levels which I find that it is of a good balance.

Curry Potato Puff - $1 |
The spicy level was considered mild and I simply love the natural sweetness of the potato within.

Besides the puffs, the Malay stall also offers items like Nasi Lemak. This will be another breakfast option while waiting for your traditional Kopi, eggs and toasts at Heap Seng Leong.
