Having won the Greenbooks award over the past years and being featured in the local television programs, Hai Kee Teochew is quite popular among the foodies, perhaps its is one of the top 10 recommended Cha Kuay Teow.
Hai kee Cha Kuay Teow Stall Front |
Every plate of Cha Kuay Teow is fried to order and there is only one size available, strictly no additional of cockles request. Though operating hours starts at 5pm, it does not deter someone like me travelling down and have a good reminiscent on the plate of delicious food.
Times are different now, instead of his son being his assistant, the position was replaced by a lady. The uncle, still dresses in white, looking radiant and youthful.
Opted the black version of CKT over the white, the kuay teow was fragrant, fried with cripsy pork lard cubes, eggs, cockles and beansprouts. Though portion is only $3, amount was generous.
Cha Kuay Teow - $3 (Standard Size) |
Moisture consistency was well handled though it may looked heavy and damp.
Teochew Cha Kuay Teow |
Do remember to be there early as the incoming queues are pretty consistent.
