Xiang Ji Bak Kut Teh

Highly recommended by my colleagues for their traditional taste "古早味" Mee Sua Soup, I could not resist and decided to give it a try. Among the stalls in the canteen, they are one of the popular ones with queues formed in front of the stall.

Service by the lady was friendly and efficient, those who had made the order and made their payments may go back to their seat and wait to be served.

Mee Sua soup comes in two concoction, with fried fish or pig innards. Every bowl of Mee Sua is prepared base on order and require some waiting time.

Soup broth was make up of herbal taste of the pig organ soup and reminds me of Malaysian Style Black Bak Kut Teh. The Fish version was really a steal, it not just a few slices of battered fish nuggets given, instead, it comes with a big chunk fried to a distinct golden brown perfection.

Portion from the Pig Innard Mee Sua was not that bad either, generous, using the same herb-infused soup base with hints of white peppery taste. Pig innards were clean and fresh, without any rancid taste. Though it was special and one of its kind, I would prefer a stronger herb taste within my bowl.
