L'aMuse

A last minute trip into Johor, Malaysia is so inevitable nowadays especially we were at loss of what to do during a Public Holiday in Singapore. Surprisingly, entering and exiting the immigration customs were both a breeze to us.

L'aMuse
There was not much crowd in the Cafe during our visit, perhaps it was a public holiday in Malaysia and not within the peak hour. Just right after entering the Cafe, there is a corner for high stool dinning as well as sofa area for "chillax". I love this area especially with the drawing on the wall illustrating the surrounding from, land sea and air with some Japanese wordings.

Interior
Interior was modernly furnished and spacious. At the left wall after the entrance, I notice that its quite interesting to pen down their daily special on the paper roll hanging vertically down like a scroll.

Interior
Chef Recommended. Dish comes with coconut rice, peanut, anchovies, cucumber slices and boneless chicken thigh. Samabal Chilli was served separately.

Nasi Lemak Sambal with Chic Thigh (Boneless) - RM 10.00
If you want to do away with the chicken bone, the chicken thigh Nasi Lemak is a fuss free dish. It was fried to golden brown and packed of turmeric smell. With crispiness on the outside and pipping hot on the inside.

Boneless Chicken Thigh
Mushroom soup was topped with cream and a leaf. Texture was fine and not too thick. However one can still manage to have a feel of those mushroom chunks in between the soup. Portion was just nice and soup was not oily.

Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread - RM 10.90

Mushroom Soup
3 slices of garlic bread was given for Mushroom Soup dips. Crunchy on the edge with hints of garlic, without being too overpowering to the soup.

Garlic Bread
Its great to have coolers like this under the air conditioned room.

Green Heven Juice (Slow Juice) - RM 6.50, Ice Mocha &  Lime & Sour Plum - RM5.20
The simplest but down to earth item we had ordered. Planta Butter with Sugar on Toast is one of our timely childhood delights. I believe most of us would have remember the metal yellow tin can where Planta is stored.

Planta + Sugar Toast - RM 2.20
Lemon butter sauce was given separately from the deep fried Dory fish fillet . Fried rice was fragrant, with hints of pepper and filled with Wok Hei smell. The egg was served in number thin rolls. Overall presentation of the dish was good.

Lemon Butter Fish Fillet with Egg Rice - RM 14.90
Not forgetting about the display shelf near to the toilet. There were cute figurines display and suitable for pictures taking.

Figurines
This small corners will definitely enlighten us especially those diners that come with kids.

Food Van
These little lamb, rabbit, squrriels and Monkey figurines were simply too adorable.

Open Air Dining

Decorations
The last item to be served when we finished all our food. However this is not disappointing as the marinate on the chicken was good enough ending our daily meal in a tasty treat. Moreover they were freshly served from the oil wok.

Chicken Wings - RM 16.80 (Half Dozen)
Overall, I find that the cafe is quite decent in terms of both food and atomophere. Operating hours start as early as 7.30am in the morning and end at 6pm.  If you are looking for a quiet cafe in Johor, you can jot it in your list.
