Sikkup | Korean BBQ

Sikkup is a renowned Korean BBQ chain from Seoul, celebrated for its bold, smoky flavours and charcoal-grilled pork. Now bringing its signature experience to the heart of  Telok Ayer, Sikkup offers an elevated yet authentic Korean BBQ experience.

Known across Korea for its speciality pork cuts, many of which are rarely found in Singapore’s Korean BBQ scene, Sikkup promises a unique dining adventure for discerning meat lovers.

Beer, anyone?

The interior was simple yet spacious, offering a comfortable dining environment. Even for a group of four, the large tables provided ample space, making it easy to enjoy shared dishes without feeling cramped. The layout felt welcoming and practical, ideal for both casual meals and gatherings.

Alongside our meal, we were treated to a generous assortment of banchan—those delightful Korean side dishes that always set the tone. Each golden dish offered a different texture and flavor, from tangy to sweet, crunchy to soft.

Gyeran-jjim is such a comforting dish, especially when it's served bubbling in a hot stone pot. The soft, custardy texture with that savory, slightly nutty flavor from the broth is hard to resist.

Alongside our meal, we were treated to a generous assortment of banchan, those small but mighty Korean side dishes that instantly whet the appetite. Served in gleaming golden bowls, each dish brought something unique to the table: creamy crabstick salad, crunchy and spicy kimchi, lightly dressed fresh greens, zesty seaweed strips, and tangy marinated greens. But the real standout for me was the japchaethose glossy glass noodles stir-fried with vegetables had me completely hooked. I kept helping myself to it and couldn’t resist asking for more refills!

Here comes the highlight of the night! Sikkup's premium BBQ meats steal the spotlight with a beautiful array of specialty pork cuts and the show-stopping Prime Beef Rib (Woodae Galbi)—perfectly marbled, thick, and grilled to smoky perfection. Each cut is curated for flavor, tenderness, and that signature charcoal-kissed taste. Get ready for a Korean BBQ experience like no other!

Guess what we had!

Considered the finest cut among the 6–8 beef ribs, the Prime Beef Rib is prized for its thick slices and beautiful, flower-like marbling. This premium cut delivers a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, bursting with rich, juicy flavor in every bite, perfectly suited for a luxurious charcoal grill experience.

One of the main highlights was the Sikkup Meat Platter, featuring a generous selection of both beef and pork cuts. Beautifully arranged and well-marbled, the meats were served ready for grilling right at the table. The beef was rich and juicy, while the pork offered a satisfying balance of tenderness and flavor.

This platter made for a fun, interactive experience, especially when paired with the classic dipping sauces and wrapped in fresh lettuce with garlic and ssamjang.

We topped up $20 for the soybean stew hotpot, and it turned out to be a comforting addition to our meal. Served bubbling in a pot, the rich, umami-packed broth was perfect for spooning over rice.

We especially enjoyed pairing it with the prime beef rib, which was tender and flavorful, almost like enjoying a warm, hearty porridge. It was the kind of soul-soothing combination that made the meal feel complete.

With Porridge

The seafood pancake (Haemul Pajeon) arrived impressively large, perfect for sharing among the table. Generously filled with green onions and chunks of seafood, it was beautifully pan-fried to a golden crisp. Conveniently cut into bite-sized pieces, it made sharing easy and enjoyable.

Each slice offered a satisfying combination of chewy texture and savoury flavour, especially when dipped into the accompanying soy-based sauce.

A satisfying Korean BBQ experience with hearty dishes, generous banchan, and a spacious setting, perfect for sharing and returning for more.
