By midday, we were already craving a seafood lunch. We passed by several Korean eateries before deciding to stop here. As usual, we faced a bit of a language barrier, but that was quickly resolved when a Mandarin-speaking server came over to assist us.

We ordered the grilled fish & braised fish set for 2 which cost us 7000₩. The set enticed us with abalone, prawns and Banchan dishes.
While everyone has been raving about the abalone in Jeju, it was finally my turn to try it!

Abalone in Shell |
Lo and behold, the texture of the abalone was exactly as described—tender and perfectly enjoyable.

Banchan dishes were refillable like other Korean eating places.

The long fish, which looks like an eel but is actually called cutlassfish, was an interesting dish to try. Although it had quite a lot of bones, the tender and flavorful meat made it worthwhile. The grilling method was spot-on, keeping the fish moist without being too dry.

Cutlass Fish |
The server was friendly and helped us get started by cutting along the right line for easier fish consumption.

Alongside a bowl of nutritious rice grains and hot braised cutlassfish, the meal was truly satisfying.
