The prawns were also cooked fresh from the wok at the point of my turn in queue. Though it was a tad over brown, these prawns were still succulent and non greasy.

The Pork Chop is the quintessential item for Hainanese Scissors Curry Rice and I was rather worried that it ran out during my turn. Luckily, the pork chop slices were topped up and I got them fresh from the oil wok. It ended up as being lucky as we were able to grab some freshly cook item. The breaded Pork Chop were thin and crispy, fragrant too.

The hawker is not only friendly but generous too. They took the initiative to ask us if the gravy was enough and do not mind drenching more sauce onto the rice. The love language between the duo was cute, the lady will tell the guy "rice wet wet" translated in Chinese to indicate more sauce is needed.

This Hainanese Scissors Curry Rice is one of the popular stalls in Telok Blangah Drive that attracts a lengthy queue during peak hours. Many times when I visited the place, we were contemplating if to order their food as many of the dishes were already low on quantity.
Just this time off, the curious me decided to give it a try even though the dishes left were not of too many choices. To my surprise, the lady who is taking the order was friendly and easy-going, my orders were quickly taken and dishes were placed on individual plates.

We ordered 5 dishes with 2 plates of rice and were given some Belachan chilli. The texture of the rice was better than the last Hainanese Scissors Curry Rice we had for it was firm and was drenched with a mix of curry as well as braised gravy.

The Braised Pork belly was thinly sliced and the flavours were adequate to pair along with our plate of rice.

Pork Chop is always my staple dish to order whenever it comes to Hainanese Curry Rice. The pork chop was thin and breaded on both sides.

In terms of texture, it was good and it has a little peppery taste which makes this side dish perfect even having this as a snack alone.
Breaded Pork Chop |
Another dish that I will not miss out on will be braised vegetables. It was braised to soften and comes with a sweet-tasting gravy.

The fried eggs on the shelves were already running low and the lady has to multitask in taking orders and at the same time replenishing the eggs.

We literally order the items that they have on the shelves and we even had these french beans with minced meat. It was not quite common we have this dish from the Hainanese food stall but I would say its pretty tasty too.
