Hup Chong Yong Dou Foo

After receiving feedbacks on Hup Chong Hakka Yong Dou Foo for their delectable painstaking hand made meat / fish paste, it gives us a good reason to choose this for our lunch over all other food in Toa Payoh area. With the celebrities pictures plastered all over on the wall, we can see that their Yong Dou Foo is actually well received not only by the public but as well as the media.

The selection of item is of wide range and I was impressed with it. They have the intestine which is one of my favorites. There is a minimum pick of 5 items with each item at a minimum price of $0.70 each.  Although there is of no physical queue, our orders took about 20 minutes to come. Shortly after our order, the queue was formed up rapidly, lucky for us.

Fried items were placed together in the same bowl as the noodles sprinkled with spring onions for the dry version. On the other hand, soup was served separately.

Dry Version

Having ordering the "kosong" version with their clear soup, I'm convinced that their soup is delicious and does not make me thirsty after that. There were also soya beans included in the soup base which seems healthy.

Soup Version

The 2 bowls of YTF costs less than $11 which we thought is quite standard in price comparing to hawker prices. Besides the varieties provided, I would say that the owner pride himself for the freshness of the meat / fish paste made with his Yong Tau Foo.
