Cai Ji Ke Kou Mian 蔡记可口面

Upon hearing that is Ke Kou Mian Stall in the Western Part of Singapore, it excites me. Cai Ji Ke Kou Mian is located in Taman Jurong Market and Hawker Center. They are selling 3 kinds of noodles, Koka, Dao Xiao and Mee Hoon Kueh. while the first 2 noodles you can get off the shelves and only Mee Hoon Kueh is handmaade.

It was said that the stock contains no MSG and was boiled fresh daily using chicken bones to archive its taste. Every bowl of noodle consist of an egg. The ingredients of the bowl of Mee Hoon Kueh was rather ordinary with mushroom slices, vegetables and minced pork. The only ingredient seen that is not so common will be their handmade shrimp paste.

Mee Hoon Kueh - $4 added with more Mee Hoon Kueh and Shrimp paste at $1 each

The shrimp paste was quite smooth. However the thickness of Mee Hoon Kueh was thicker than our expectation. As an overall, the bowl of handmade noodle is quite ordinary to me

There is a difference of $0.50 between the spicy and non spicy noodle. Ingredients is similar to the bowl of Mee Hoon Kueh but it doesn't include slice mushrooms.

Spicy Koka Noodles - $4.50

There was not much to elaborate on as I find that there are of better bowls in the Western part of Singapore and to be honest, I will prefer one of the chained Pau stalls that is also selling Koka Noodles. On a side note, the service was tad slow.

Are you ready for some Koka Noodles?

Rating: 3/ 5
